Bodega Arautava La Quinta Roja
From the slopes of Tenerife's Orotava Valley, La Quinta Roja is a distinctive red wine made from Listán Negro, grown on volcanic soils and trained using the region's unique cordón trenzado system - an ancient method where vines are hand-braided into long, rope-like cords that enhance ripening and preserve old vine heritage.
After an early manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed entirely by hand, without crushing, preserving the integrity of the fruit. Fermentation begins naturally using wild yeasts. To preserve the grape’s freshness and delicate aromatics, very gentle pump-overs are carried out, minimizing extraction and highlighting the pure, Atlantic-influenced character of the Listán Negro.
The wine is not aged in oak, preserving its purity and fruit-forward profile. Instead, it is refined in bottle for 8 months, allowing the flavours to integrate and develop naturally.
